What does that mean?
At
Born In A Barn, we believe that the people we build are just as
important as the products we create. Whenever you make a purchase from
Born In A Barn, it is lovingly made by someone who is trying to better
themselves. We believe in the future of a person, not their past. As
such, we offer positions to people who are often overlooked. These
young people are given the opportunity to learn job skills &
training at Born In A Barn.
To date, we have seen dozens of
lives transformed, taking broken individuals & giving them
confidence and knowledge to ender the next phase of their lives. Past
workers have overcome obstacles such as drug & alcohol addiction,
criminal records, no job skills, illiteracy, and broken homes. Some of
our former employees have gone on to become self employed business
owners, a Pastor, wonderfull parents, College & University
graduates, and other rewarding careers. Each year we also take on a
CO-OP student who learns woodworking and business skills with us. Two
of those students have won the EC MacTavish award "for students who
overcame great obstacles in order to finish High School." We do not
change these young people, they choose to change, we simply offer them
the opportunity, and the tools they need to better themselves. Of
course, a little patience and prayer doesn't hurt either.
